Viola Virtuosa Project

Welcome to the Viola Virtuosa Project

The Viola Virtuosa Project is an ambitious cultural initiative born from a profound passion for the viola, an instrument as fascinating as it is often underappreciated. The project’s goal is to shed light on the extraordinary beauty and richness of the viola repertoire, celebrating this instrument as the absolute protagonist of an authentic musical renaissance.

At the heart of the Viola Virtuosa Project lies the philanthropy of Maestro Marco Misciagna, recognized as one of the foremost viola virtuosos on the international stage. Thanks to his relentless commitment to researching, promoting, and performing original viola repertoire, the project aims to unveil the instrument’s boundless expressive possibilities, elevating it as a unique and irreplaceable voice in the musical landscape.

The Viola Virtuosa Project was born out of the need to fill a void: too often, the viola has been relegated to a secondary role, overshadowed by more prominent instruments. This project goes beyond merely highlighting the viola’s history or technical features; it is an invitation to listen with greater awareness and passion.

The Viola Virtuosa Project is more than a celebration of the viola: it is a cultural journey, an artistic mission, and a philanthropic endeavor to restore the viola to its rightful place of prominence in classical and contemporary music.
